Power, Work, and Force

Power is defined as Work per unit of time:

Power = Work / time

P = W / t

From earlier discussion, Work is the product of Force and Displacement. Thus Power is writable as rate of force production:

Power = (Force × Displacement) / time

P = (FD) / time

simplified,

Power = (mass × acceleration × Displacement) / time

P = maD / t

Power is speed born from effortless movement that exists in biomechanical low friction / bioelectrical low interference environments.

A Deeper Meaning of Power

Both Work and Power contain components that indicate efficiency. Acceleration within the equation for work requires a component of efficiency because of its time element. Power is Work per unit of time, making Power logarithmically greater a measure of efficiency than Work.

Movement through space is more than efficiency of the kinetic chain. While it is kinetics, efficient movement requires a guidance system to navigate terrain, obstacles, and waypoints. Locomotion without steerage is useless.

The kinetic chain is a guidance system for our behavior in space as well as a way to move through it. It is a navigation and orientation of a locomotive complex. Movement then applies to all behavior, volitional, non-volitional, conscious and unconscious.

Optimal movement requires optimal behavior from the biomechanical and bioelectrical systems. It therefore demands identical behavioral quality from all perspectives, be they metaphysical, psychological, or social.
