Primal Rotational Patterns – The Science

Fascia-Gut-Neurotransmitter Effect on Cortical Mapping

Primal Rotational Patterns uses the science explained in this article to improve cortical mapping. Cortical mapping is the process by which the body identifies itself in space. Cortical mapping employs the senses to create a three-dimensional map in the brain of one’s environment.

The movie Prometheus is a great example of cortical mapping at work. Sean Harris’ character Fifield releases his “pups” to map the cave. The information from the droids is relayed back to the ship Prometheus, which produces a holographic map of the cave’s structure. In the human body, the eye captures light from the surrounding environment and sends this information to the brain. The brain takes that data and arranges it to produce a multidimensional map of reality. It is through this process that we become aware of our surroundings: the horizon, obstacles or threats we have to avoid, the confines of our environment, such as walls, etc.:

However, cortical mapping occurs mostly through movement. When we move, we produce information about the environment via manipulation of the fascial network. Every position we take produces a unique data set of length and tension of the fascial web. That data set is a product of the environment we find ourselves in, as well as our own sense of how efficiently we can respond to it. All of this information is relayed to the brain for interpretation and instructions for how to react. This information is cross-referenced with data coming from visual cues so that the brain can make meaningful interpretations of reality and issue commands: “we are about to run into a wall, turn left by planting the right foot and pivoting, etc.”

This data structure / reaction sequence is immensely complex. It works flawlessly only when the fascial web has no trauma and the neurological system is able to produce the appropriately-shaped set of electrical signals. This requires that biomechanics and gut health be given equal weight in the training system so that they may develop hand-in-hand. Primal Rotational Patterns works by training the cortical mapping mechanism and by ensuring that the gut is healthy enough to support the required neurotransmitter expression.
